Not necessary. The starter grounds through its connection to the engine, and the engines' connection to the neg term on the battery.

Make sure there's a good ground from the battery to the engine, and another from the firewall to the engine. And a good ground from the frame to the battery is also beneficial

i may add a frame to bat ground just as a help, my oil gauges has being acting up and fuel has been reading about right, oil sender is the factory one from the engine( engine is a 68) so it might need replaced.
