The bed on my 150 is almost flawless. It is damaged below the right tail light from the previous owner backing it into something. I believe I have located the panel i need on lmc.
"49-8511 REAR LOWER PANEL-RH $29.95 $29.95"
The book shows it as being an 11" tall piece. That would mean that it will patch into the tail light. Has anyone here ordered this piece?
Planning to carefully drill the spot welds, measure 30 times and cut once, and then once happy with the fit of the new piece, slowly weld it in place. I plan to plug weld in place of spot welds.
for my 81 f100 I used Tabco for both side floors, rockers, rear inner door posts, cab corners and the left lower door inner and outer panels and was happy with all of them.
Cant say how the other are as I never used them.

DC and Tabco do NOT show that patch panel is available....just because LMC's panel is 11" tall by X, does not mean you have to use it all.
Cut out the bent part to straight metal match lines and cut the replacement to fit. Just do not cut bigger than the overall repair panel dimensions. Like I had to tell you that. lol
Might be better to hit a JY and cut a patch panel out of a truck to get the same material thickness. Ones from a 73-79 should work. Here are some panels I cut for a FTE member in the past.
So here's what you'll get. It's 11" from edge to edge along the surface. Not 11" tall. However it will cover up to the tail light. I happen to have had both LMC and Tabco versions in my hands for this job. The weight and profile on the Tabco is better, but the LMC piece extended farther around the back, so I used it to avoid having to fab an additional piece to cover all the rust damage. Either way, I think looking at your pictures you will have to either hammer out the last several inches or fab an additional piece.
By the way, do you think I should go with blue/silver or red/silver?

Blue and silver for sure! I am going to paint mine in a medium poly blue.
So I guess lmc will be my best bed. Ill get it ordered tomorrow!
