Rdt update

I couldn't upload photos into a private message. Here is the blow by from my road draft tube after 30,000 mi. It is not as good as I would like it to be, however it is far better than my service truck that has 350,000 on it. Probably the best option is to do what Aaron did and go to total seal rings.

I wouldnt listen to that guy he's a real a-hole who doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground.

Besides if the trucks running good who cares why worry about it.🤪

It just takes time haha.
Hopefully I will have the time to get the flatbed done this summer.. Life got in the way and I have just been driving it instead of getting it finished up.

Time for some cooling upgrades. my radiator decided to start leaking so it is a good excuse to upgrade to a larger one. The stock 6.9 radiator is roughly 520 sq inches. A stock 7.3/6.9 AC radiator is 702. I researched any possible radiator that would fit hoping to find a good crossflow as they are more efficient. As it turns out, a 4 core 7.3 radiator will give the most wetted area on the tubes while still fitting in the necessary form factor and not being a custom one-off. I had to go with a 3 core as the 4 core were out of stock and I need my truck back. I am trying to fit it in while keeping my sway bar as those options were mutually exclusive from the factory due to the need for them to occupy the same space. I will have to space the sway bar mount down .5" but it should fit.
I am also updating the fan and clutch to a 9 blade 26" nylon fan and a clutch from what I think is from Mack e7. The fan will need some trimming to clear the AC compressor but it should result in a MASSIVE increase in airflow. I will be tigging an aluminum shroud for it as soon as I get it mocked up.

The radiator is now fit. I built a removable frame which bolts to the core support and uses the factory mounts on the radiator so I will not have to worry about modifying the radiator if this one ever breaks. I may have over built it but I certainly reduced the core support flex.

Fitting the radiator was a just barely proposition. I still have a sway bar though! I flipped the mount around and welded extensions off of it to bolt the rubber mounts onto. Before this the edge of the sway bar mount interfered with the radiator by 1/8" and it didn't want it to rub and wear trough the radiator.

With the larger fan it interferes with the AC compressor so I notched the blades to allow a full 25" diameter. I put a 3/8" radius in the notch to reduce the notch factor and prevent crack formation in the blades.

I am going to run it without a shroud for a while to confirm everything works and then build the shroud in a week or two.
