Your Ford ones are still going well at 136K, seems like they've worked fine for you. While I read about a failure here and there, it isn't something frequent suggesting the Ford parts are sub-par. I'd just go back with Ford ones personally...
Sorry, I haven't heard of upgraded units so can't help you there...
Nice post - I had to rep ya' for that one -- how many miles were on those when you re-packed and did you re-use the seals or get new ones?
Just reuse the seals, just be careful when removing them!!! You don't have to pack um full ether, I use mystic hi-temp multi-purpose grease, it's the bomb! Lol! That's funny right there, I'm almost 60!!!!!! Omg!
I did them all last week, did a transmission fluid change on the 02 today!

Thank you! I'm soooo doing this when the belt comes off this weekend for the water pump install!!
I'll hit seals with a heat gun to warm it up and hopefully prevent it from cracking.
I paid about $7 each for the bearings from my local Trans-Bearing store, so any specialty shop that sells bearing and seals. And they were a very good quality.
