hey guys i got a 03 250 6.0 with 260k miles, egr delete, oil cooler update, stock head gaskets and bolts ive added a stage 1 turbo, new injectors stock size, 58v ficm and a cold air my problem has been there since before i added all this, the problem is there is a dead spot in my pedal where it builds no boost no power it will barely get over 30mph. cold start is fine at idle hpop hold 870 irp at 30, when it reaches op temp pressure falls to 630 irp at 26, warm start is fine too no long crank at all, wot hpop will hit 3300psi but it has to down shift to get that and max boost of 22psi. ive replaced the map, mass. ebp and cleaned the tube. and changed the icp, also while at idle i will randomly lose a cylinder for about 5-10 secs then it will smooth back out and idle fine, turbo is pretty quite too compared to other 6.0s ive heard. fass fuel pump 125ghp on it holds 70 psi with blue spring. anything adivce would be great!!
Your IPR is 26% at idle when it's 190°? Max HPOP is 3300psi, what's the ICPV when you hit 3300psi? Is the truck tuned? You should be able to hit 28psi.
Going down the road 1700psi ipr st 47, 3000psi ipr at 84 engine temp at 194 hit max boost of 22psi at idle 630psi ipr at 24 temp 190. I have the sct x4, on sct performance, the dead spot is still there, with pedal in dead spot it does make power but no boost, boost will stay at 1 pound no matter where pedal is unless I have it to the floor, also while tinned I have very high egt never falls below 700 while driving also black smokes a ton. No strange sounds at all when at op temp just sounds like a diesel, what's the best way to air test a 03
First off.return the truck to stock, then give us the numbers. Tuning plays numbers games to trick the PCM. You can find the numbers for a stock truck up in the stickies section up top.
If your at IPR 84% and 3000 psi, that's an issue. Unload the tune, it can hide issues and is designed to trick the PCM to prevent the CEL from coming on.
You might have a stuck unison ring or bad turbo VGT but yes the first thing to do is go back to the stock tune and see what the vitals are. Take a look at VGT% while you're at.
Okay so stock cold hpop 840 ipr at 29, at 154 engine temp 640psi ipr at 23,190 engine temp 640psi ipr at 23. Vgt cycles through 15-84 I can hear them cycle too. I could only get the hpop at a max of 2200psi and 2psi boost and ipr at 55. Ipr is at 45 when at 1500 psi, while driving in stock tune I have to hold it to the floor basically at all times to get going down the road. No codes, no cel
With key on engine off, pull up the throttle position PID and then cycle the throttle from fully released to fully depressed while watching the PID. What do you see?
It has a known weak pump. You don't have dummy plugs or standpipes with the log type oil rail. That leaves the pump or nipple cups and injector seals. Save your $$$, your going to be buying a pump soon. Get the Adrenaline pump.
