It doesn't matter how many miles are on it. Some of the pickups that we purchased here at work had well over 220K -250K miles. Not one of my personal ones has less than 258K miles (the most modified one having 276K). However, I have also come across many, many of these with mid-100K that have dead cylinders, severe ring wear, injector problems, bad transmissions, et al. due to various things like oil changes or missing air filters for god-knows-how-long.

The white one is out. The silver one is still in question. The guy said he's taken very good care of it. Never been off-road. Only thing I have a problem with is the fact there are two spots where rust has made a hole. One wheel well one cab corner. Not sure what it costs to fix it. Without Bondo.

Good call on ditching the white one. The ad was full of excuses, justifications, and unwritten caveat emptors. The final 'stroke in that ad is that the seller would happily trade for another 7.3. Excuse me? He's already GOT a 7.3. It isn't like he said he was looking for a bigger cab like the second seller with the silver truck said. So what's so hopeless about the 7.3L he's got that would make him rather trade for the unknowns of a different 7.3L?
The language in any ad can be indicative of the kind of person the seller is. Clearly, that person isn't capable of seeing things from a buyer's point of view. Lucky for you.
