fuel filter restriction sensor
I've got a leaky fuel bowl on a 1998 E-350 with 7.3L powerstroke turbo engine. I think they used two different fuel filter styles that year, mine is the type with the threaded plastic cap on the filter.
In the center of my photo is the part that drips. It is a brass **** about the size of a quarter near the top on the left side of the fuel bowl. Actually it hangs off the assembly that contains the water separator and fuel heater. It has a 90 degree boot with a wire on it.
I believe this part is called the fuel filter restriction sensor, or fuel filter vacuum switch.
From what I've read on various forums it seems like some people just remove it and install a brass plug.
I would appreciate any help before I take anything apart. If it requires removing the fuel bowl, etc, I will probably take it to a professional. If I can pry off the wire boot, unthread the sensor, and thread in a plug, then I will probably do it myself.
Also, what diameter and thread pitch of a plug do i need to get?

What is it called?
