O.k 05 F250 super duty 6.0 turbo have towed boat and car hauler never had a issue I had a little borrowed utility trailer for a few lite runs lights were intermittent on off bright dim I checked my factore 4 prong plug socket all was good then today nothing I was checking box under hood pulled the 10 Amps fuses out all tested good made sure I put them in correctly into sockets and I pulled a 15 amp also put back correctly. Finally got lights on trailer after cleaning the trailer plug well and using a dab of copper grease to help with contact.
then I took off got a block C/E light came on got back home scanned the truck got a code P1633 scanned said batt v high and power v to low .. Could I have cut power to some system that needs to reset in time of driving cycles or shorted out something truck runs fine starts normally just cant erase this code or the C/E light on dash
Thank's for any ideas or help
And few good deeds goes unpunished LOL trying to help cub scouts with hauling old Xmas trees LOL 1st real issue I've ever had with this truck or towing lights and 1st time with this trailer
"P1633 means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected low voltage on the keep alive memory circuit. This is the circuit that supplies constant battery voltage to the keep alive memory portion of the PCM so it can retain information regarding fuel control, idle control and transmission control adaptive strategies to name a few. If the battery is disconnected or voltage drops below 10.5 volts this code will be set. If the battery has not been disconnected then the circuit will need to be checked for opens or high resistance in the wire, shorts, blown fuse, high voltage r/f interference from ignition or charging system components, or the PCM being being faulty itself."
I have had that code after I had my batteries disconnected.
I just replaced the batteries 2 weeks ago And yesterday trying to sort out the little trailers lights I checked all the fuses . I pulled all the 10amp under the hood box and there was a 2 and 15 amp and I pulled and tested them also did nothing with the relays . I did find the lighting cause to be the socket on trailer . I was thinking maybe I killed supply power to some monitoring system ? Thanks I'll pull and recheck the fuses again as when I was testing the signal pins in the factory trailer socket I may have shorted one out ? And I just eye balled them I never used a meter I will try to test them all again with meter .
Oh do you no if there is any fuses inside the trucks panel that might have a bearing on this I did not check those .I just checked all in box under hood
Thanks you for the info.

Sorry, I don't know. I have use my manual whenever I get into what fuse does what.
Thanks for the help been looking for the manual for the last few weeks I had it out to see about should power be kept on truck while changing batteries and left it on Kitchen counter wife moved it was cluttering up the 10Ft counter .. Just cant recall where she moved it to.. (: its here someplace I hope and not thrown out in trash.. I'll pull all the fuses and double ck with tester.. It started with me pulling and looking at them...Thanks a ton for the replies ..
I was going to post it there in diesel forum then I saw this and figured since it popped up while towing a borrowed trailer with a light issue maybe towing related ? Problem started when was checking fuses as the little trailer lights had been working then stopped.. But good new is Lite if off found the problem..
Old friend ex customer of mine was a life time ford dealer Mech back Home retired in 2011.. He told me to go pull 2 fuses in dash board box I forget the numbers ( have them on console ) and two up under the hood box start truck 3 times then in un hook batteries for about 30 mins put fuses back in connect batteries hit key on 3 times to on then start it Bingo worked like a charm he said I interrupted the power to have not a clue a PCM or keep alive circuit KALC or something like that it just needed a reboot .. But problem solved its fine Andy said that's a 400.00 dollar dealer fix LOL But again thanks a ton for your help ..
I really appreciate you passing that along. I have had that code, but never had to do anything to make it go away. Just cleared the code and that was it.
I could not clear mine that was the biggest worry for me my Buddy said if you tow or water gets into bumper brake socket that it can cause this or if you the 10 amp fuse for get the location but its 17 I think when I go to truck today I'll post the correct location under hood box but that will also interrupt power to the module or PMC pr PCM module and they sometimes need to be reset that's how you reset it LOL not automobiles any longer rolling computer I what he called them (:
I would appreciate it if you post the fuse numbers and what they go to, if you know. This is a curious thing for me because it would seem if you pull a fuse you disrupt power to one thing or another, but doesn't disconnecting the batteries do the same thing, just on a grander scale? Inquiring minds want to know.
