I have the glass sunroof and just bought a heavy duty magnet and placed it on the inside of the glass and the magnet mount holds good from the outside. Haven't had it fall off yet.
At work I often have to have a whip and radio antenna on my truck. I recently learned through trial and error they don't stick at all to the new body.
I thought suction cups but they might not work well in really cold weather.
I know there is hitch mounts. I was also thinking some sort of box mount. Princess auto is likely my best route I am thinking. Ideas?
With my Kenworth, (Fiberglas cab) I would just glue a small piece of steel,big enough for the magnetic base, to the roof. No one except me knew it was there!
I just used like an eighteen guage thickness, painted color matched, problem solved!

Try a RAM Mount Triple suction cup base. I use it on my boat and it holds well. I used the triple in case one came loose there are still two other suction cups holding. They are extremely strong and not too expensive.
