FWIW I received a letter dated October 2018 from ford about this issue and they extended the warranty on the oil separator assembly for 11 years or 120k miles. Yesterday my '15 had the check engine light come on and it threw a P04DB code. Called dealer this morning and they are almost 3 weeks out before I can get it in. Life must be good for them...
The letter also has a provision for reimbursement for those that may have had to pay to get theirs repaired.
The customer satisfaction program code number is 17M04 if that helps anyone.
I have a 2015 F250 and I have the P04DP code. It has bee doing it for a couple months. My truck is modified, no DP or DEF. My truck has 135000 miles on it. Not able to use the remote is the biggest pain. I clear it and it comes on again. I'm going to not use the remote and see if it stays off. I don't think Ford will work on it without the emission crap on it. But I like the 18mpg.
Eventually you may go into limp mode. Ford has a recall on this. They fix it for FREE
Ford may not fix it on a deleted truck. My understanding is the parts aren't that expensive and it's not a major job to do. I did have mine done by the dealer. It would come on and go off. The code was stored in memory and they went ahead and corrected it. As I understand it the only trucks affected were 2015 models.

Another big reason not to delete a truck. I had mine fixed long ago. I got the CEL.
Hoping someone can ease my mind in this. My 16' f250 6.7 started throwing codes P04DB and P04E3 a couple weeks ago. My understanding is it's a "safety" recall for the crankcase vent tube/sensor. Parts are in back order to make the repair
My question is, I'm supposed to leave for a cross country trip later next week. Am I safe to drive with what's going on? What's the likelihood it'll go into limp mode? I'm looking at about 6000 miles for my trip.
Only issue I've had with the truck as of a few months ago. While under load it felt like it was gear hunting and making some hard shift points. Had it serviced and reflashed PMC. Any clue if the shifting is related to the above codes/recall?

Check out these guys and see if they can help you.
This is a recall item and Ford fixes it for free. It's under the charge pipe and make sure that it's seated properly into the turbo. Nine wasn't and I lost the O ring and had to buy a new pipe,$300 something. Dealer paid for it but I was on the road and had to spend another day. NOT NICE

Yeah but he said parts are on back order. I was just trying to give him another option. Plus they don't cost much. Had no idea if they had them in stock or if they had his. Just FYI for him.
When I saw crankcase vent tube sensor, I assumed the CCV box. I could be wrong though.
There is a CCV under the charge tube. Not sure exactly sure but I know this because they didn't get my tube back on correctly and it blew off. Remember when you did your CCV box. Wasn't there something under the charge tube you ran a hose to?

The hose that runs to the intake comes from the CCV box. When the oil catch can was installed, you have to remove the bolts that hold the CCV box to the rocker cover, lift it up to install the the adapters that go underneath the box. The adapters then mount to the cover and the box goes back on top of the adapters. You intercept the blow by before the box. The blow by is cleaned of the oil and water which falls into the can and the "clean" air is sent back to the box to go through the hose to the intake.
