Am I the only one disappointed in the E-Track accessories available on the market? Searching EBay and the Googles just finds D-rings, ratchet straps and hooks for ropes. There are a few interesting things, like a spare tire mount and holder for a 2x4, but that's it.
I didn't realize how underutilized those modular mounts were until a good friend was poking around my truck. He's a gun guy and half jokingly asked if there were rifle racks that fit into the mount. That got me thinking. I need a way to secure my truck box and using these mounts seems like a good idea (might try to make two spare tire systems work). But what about just a 6"x6" plate with holes drilled in it to provide a modular mounting interface for stuff? Or a truck box that fits in the corner? A mount for a hi-lift?
Maybe I'm just expecting too much from a system apparently more designed for moving trucks and trailers. Your thoughts?
I've got the imagination, but not the skills and even fewer tools. That's the problem. I'm going to swing by a Harbor Freight and see what they have. If I can get something that I can easily cut way then it might be feasible to make something.
