Okay guys hope you can help out here....2011 XLT 5.0 S/Crew....my drivers side headlight goes out as soon as I turn on lights. It goes from the DRL position to no light as soon as I put it into gear......... I have replaced the bulb & checked the fuse's also switched fuse's from left to right etc.. This light will come on only when I pull the fog light switch on....connector appears to be good etc. but has now got me stumped...Any thoughts out there.....Pleasssssssse

Not a wrecked trk. however it was a shell fleet trk working in/around the alberta tar sands...it was pretty dusty & guncked up underneath....Hopefully that is all resolved to date...Trk has been parked for 6 months & when I restarted to use it 2 weeks ago this is what I found.....Checked for power @ headlight & still no Left Low beam...wire @ headlight IS DEAD....however it is as I said if you pull the fog light switch to on..... this low beam powers on....toooo cold working outside (-10) to trace back thru harness....just come inside & had a brain fart the only little thing that I didn't do @ the fuse panel was to look & check the out terminal...Like most everyone I presumed fuse is good so good to go.. Will check that first on next warm day...A little baffaling as to why the fog lights back feed the low beam/ that's what it appears to do ......Will post final repairs (hopefully soon) Thks Guys!!

according to the wiring diagram...it comes out of the switch as 1 wire, thru MFS still as 1 wire to fuse panel @ pass. kick panel fuse box.....into right & left fuses (this rules out bad switch)....fuses are good so somewhere between fuses & left headlight we have a break/bad connection...tooo cold (-10) outside to get into the harness right now so will leave it ...will post repair when I find it....Thks
PS: checked @ plug....grd-ok...feed wire only powers when Fog lights are on.....

can anyone post a headlight wiring diagram...mostly interested from the kick panel fuse box out....need wire colours... just so I don't have to stab every wire....can't find one on-line that stays with the exact year.....THKS!!!
Check your relay box under the hood (Most likely).
I believe that there were relay's added for each headlight? If so, you could swap those from side to side, then fire up the headlights
thats why I am looking for a wiring diagram ...i will double chk though........but I'm reasonably sure there is only a high beam relay there!! Low beams are two fuses in pass. side kick panel no relay...Thks.
Sun 8am (no coffee yet) Plz bear with me???
just looked real quick @ diagrams & I couldn't readily see why/how the fog lights are back feeding power to this low beam
(thoughts subject to change after breckie)
It's only -4 outside today so I might get into the harness once it warms up later...
Don't know why but I'm thinking to concentrate on the last few feet of wiring to left side fogs & low beam also trying a new grd to low beam!!
!st look @ wiring harness looks good but As you probably know grds. result in funny things sometimes!!
Now I'm not saying that this is the case. But keep in mind that these illustrations that I posted are for U.S. trucks. And I see that you're in Canada. So it may be possible that there may be wiring differences between the trucks for the U.S markets and the one for the Canadian market. I can't say that for certain, but it's worth noting the possibility of that being the case. However I hope this helps at least somewhat.
Just thought of one difference between our trucks that I'm not sure is noted in my manual. And that's the fact or so I believe is a fact and if I'm wrong feel free to correct me on this is that your Canadian trucks require DRL's. Whereas our trucks here in the states aren't required by law to have them. However I think some of our trucks do have them as an option. So keep in mind that your issue may be related somehow to the DRL's
