I've only had this truck a week (F350 4x4 SRW), but coming from a 1998 Dodge Cummins to this is like going from a covered wagon onto the Starship Enterprise. MPG so far seems to be about 17, but that is stop and go--hoping for 20 on the interstate.

I LOVE the quiet---my old Cummins only had 95,000 miles (barely broken in)---but it was so loud you could barely hear a conversation inside the cab. Whenever I pulled into a McDonalds drive thru, I got into a habit of shutting off the engine when I ordered because the attendant couldn't hear my Big Mac order...haha.

The Cummins was great....unfortunately Dodge put a very wimpy transmission behind it that couldn't handle that kind of torque. New transmission at 90K is ridiculous. I feel like the Torqshift 6 speed is built solidly enough to handle this power.

Don't know if any of you have noticed...at low speeds coming from a stop, I do hear a throaty high pitched sound (turbo I assume)...very faint sound but a very different sound from anything I've heard in the auto world.

My favorite features so far....
1. auto dimming headlights
2. Tow technology 360 degree cameras
3. Power folding mirrors
4. Suri speech recognition - receiving and sending text messages thru Apple Carplay is very cool.

Only got 350 miles, but very happy so far.

 

What axle ratio do you have?

I feel the same way coming out of my old 2001 F-250. These new HD trucks are a whole new ball game!
