I have a F450 with about 1600 miles. Engine light came on about 10 days ago and i brought it in to get looked at. They reset the codes, one on the DP switch of the DPF and i will have to wait for my paperwork to get the second one. Short memory. The engine light did reset but i was told i needed and new pressure switch and they would have to order it. So back in today to have the new switch put in. (engine light came on again two days ago and stayed) The switch only took a few minutes and then the service writer came and told me my truck needed the computer updated, should be less then an hour. Three hours later i got visited again and he offered me a ride home and said the downloads are taking a long time and its going to be awhile. So i took the ride home and waited for the phone call that my truck is finished. Well the phone range, but it was not done yet. They needed my second key fob to perform the updates and were sending someone to my house too pick it up. Seems kinda funny, anyone heard of this before? Does this mean they are re-booting everything? The other question i have is if you have changed things with Forescan, will this put everything back to factory and you will need to do it all again. i will post update when i get them. I just wanter to say this FTE is amazing and really enjoy being a part of it. First time being involved on one and thank you to all you heavy hitters. I look forward to it every day.
A few weeks ago the JD tech came over to my hobby farm to update the computer in my 2016 JD tractor. Took about 2 1/2 hours to put in the updates. But at least I could sit in the buddy seat and chat with him for a couple of hours. So not surprised it takes 3 hours to do the computer in the new Super Duty Fords. Al
I got my truck back at 430 today. They installed the new switch and what looks like four module downloads. The werd part is the screen and settings have changed. There used to be two full pages and a partial third page under the settings and now it is only two pages. I know this because I had to go to the third page to change the ambient lighting and now it is on page two. I really wonder what they removed.
