With the switch to John Deere this fall I got a laptop too(supplied by work). All of the service manuals are on disc's and the newer equipment is diagnosed with JD's service program. Its really nice to surf the web from anywhere in the house.

We have two laptops and a desktop. Desktop is for our own office, sandis laptop is so she can take it to school and back and have her reports cards, and whatnot on there, and my laptop is for traveling cause I usually stay at a different hotel every night in the winter.

Laptops are so cheap now too, when it comes time to replace this one, im definately gonna get another one!

Now they come with like 500 gig hard drives, 512 mb video cards, 4 GIGs of ram, insane!

It`s nice to have company supplied equipment!
Double post deleted, it could have been because FTE is slow or unresponsive at times only to be lightning fast other times. Anyone else find this besides Glen and I? I thought it was just my computer till Glen mentioned it.

So did my computer. On New years I got a pop up saying Supervirusprotecter2008. I said no or cancel. It warned that my computer may slow down or freeze or shut off losing documents. I just saw it as another scam from these computer company's trying to get me to buy their product. Anyways I closed it and guess what. My computer freezes and shut off while playing games or veiwing the web. It also will turn its self back on when I shut it off. Comes back on a couple hours later. So now I unplug it.
Tried to defrag and restore. Activate my antivirus stuff. will not respond. Nor does google work. I can search, but when I click on what I'm looking for, All I get are other search engines.
Contacted a friend who is into the computer and he tired. Nothing would unlock the trojan virus. SO I have to put everything on disc, if I can. and reprogram my machine.
So Beware of these adware virus protecter stuff. It also happened to one of the co workers at work.

Usually I`m lucky that if I shut down when that happens I`m fine.
If you save everything on disc won`t the virus be saved as well?
When a surge during a power outage hit my computer I lost everything and plus a $300 repair bill..

Everytime we tried to load a program it would deny the program access to the computer, on or off line.
So You guys may not hear from me for a bit here. while I get things cleaned up and the computer fixed.
Glad my wife has a laptop and she has graciously let me use it to let you guys know. I'm usually not allowed to touch her laptop.
