ive rea a few post on hear and it sounding like my gp relay , just want to see if any others might think gp controller , anyway fixed or replaced head gasket issue that happened last fall with a donar salvage rollover motor , basicly same milage as my truck 221000 on truck rollover engine 191000 installed new injectors, seals GLOWPLUGS my question , now is , at 8 degrees outside , pluged in with block heater it fires on one preheat , I go to work let it sit , I cant plug in , 10-12 hours latter take a good 10-2 preheats to get to fire , what do I need , a gp controller , or relays , any advise , I sure appreciate , love the truck , just need it to start like a new one lol
I installed the White-Rodgers (Stancor) 586 902. Plus I do two 30 - 45 second preheats when it is close to zero degrees and it has started quickly without being plugged in.
Mine started at -4 this morning not plugged in after setting all night. I waited about 15 sec after the wait to start went out & she fired up.
I'd suggest checking your GPR, just because it's new doesn't mean it's working. If your glow plugs were working I don't see any reason for it to be giving you problems unless your batteries on on the way out.
Are you simply waiting for light to go out on dash or are you waiting the full two minutes before cranking? Light out on dash in not full glow plug cycle. Just asking.

Good idea & good luck. Maybe have someone turn the key on while cold & while you check voltage on the big lugs of your GPR, I've had them "click" like they are supposed to but not pass the volts thru
When my gpr was working correctly..(now I have it hooked to a ground switch), the gpr-led mod would time out about 2sec AFTER the seatbelt icon would disappear...

This would all depend on the outside air temp and the oil temp at the time. Your glow plugs can stay on for up to 2 minutes......
