2017 250 CC FX4 Lariat 6.2 3.73....1 week old so not much to report regarding MPG as not run first tank of gas out yet. I don't tow and chose the 250 over the 150 for several reasons...first, the 250 really didn't cost more than a 150 and you get so much more vehicle. A co-worker has a '16 150 FX4 KR 3.5EB and I was not impressed with the engine as much as I thought I would be. The artificial engine note is too obvious, at least to me, and the throttle response is lazy. The 6.2 in the 250 just has that Ford V8 sound and feel and moves the big truck down the road just fine. Truck is so big, your sense of speed is skewed, I have to pay attention to keep it under 85 on the hwy.......coming from someone who owned 2 Tundras and a Tacoma for last 3 trucks, I am very impressed, so far with the '17 F250. No regrets at all.

Just got mine last night, and I have also noticed I need to watch my speed because it doesn't seem to be going as fast as the speedo says. GPS in my phone says speedo is pretty much dead on though. Throttle response is pretty good with 3.73 gears in a 4x4 CC SB. Not much torque below 1500rpm but the gears seem about right for hwy cruising. I figure I will be locking out 6th gear for camper towing.
2017 F350 6.2 4x2 3.73 Road Trip Fuel Economy and Range
Just returned from our first road trip. Almost 1K miles (lightly loaded, no towing) from western NC to northern VA (via I40, I77, I81 and I66) and back (via I66, I81, and I86). I used 5th gear when climbing the Fancy Gap grade on I77 (north) and when climbing the I26 (east) grade from eastern TN to the NC line.
Elevation varied between ~300 ft. and 3760 ft; most was between ~1000 ft and ~2500 ft. Temperatures over 2-1/2 days varied between low 70's and low 90's, and we used A/C over 50% of the trip. Fuel grade for the entire trip was 87 AKI (east coast regular). Traffic was generally good but we did hit a few "knots"; interste traffic came to a standstill on I81 in southern VA.
Pic #1 below shows the trip odometer for the entire trip. 16.8 mpg displayed on our truck converts to 16.4 mpg when hand calculated.
Pic#2 shows the range for a single full tank: just over 500 miles.
Typically 65-70, which are common east coast speed limits. It can be difficult at times to maintain those speeds due to tractor-trailer traffic on I-81.

That is impressive and makes me more anxious for the delivery of my truck.
Last weekend I did a 4 hr round trip to the coast with the family. Still had over a 1/3rd tank when I returned. Just filled up yesterday after a few days of my normal town driving. Entire tank calc came it at 344.3 miles and 24.9 gal for a 13.8 mpg average. My truck mpg showed almost 16 for just the coast trip which was a lot of 55-65 mph driving.
Still on the first tank. Computer says 11.8 - 12.2mpg. I'll also be tracking fuel with fuelly as well to see how the computer compares to hand calcs. I've got a mixed 10 mile one way commute with 2 miles of it on gravel.
17 F350 6.2 CCSB 4.30 gears. I only get 10 MPG (city/Hwy combo) no matter what I do in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area. I had a 2007 Silverado and got the same mileage so I figured that going in. I usually set the cruise at 75 on the turnpike so that doesn't help I'm sure but the hills in and around Pittsburgh limit me to 10 mpg no matter what I do. Even the turnpike is full of hills!
I see quite a few members in the north east getting a little lower mileage. Do you know what the ethanol content is in the fuel in your area? I achieve better than that on 37's and 4.88's with short daily commutes in the foothills of East Tennessee. And I have the less efficient 6r140.
