remote starter issues

2007 Ford F150, Remote starter no longer works. after pressing remote (4) times. 3 with horn blast , it is to start. the lights flash, interior dash lights go on as if trying to start. It does this every 10 seconds or so till I hit brake. If I use the remote with the key inserted it starts right up. I had just replaced the battery previously. Any Ideas???

Sounds like your immobilizer bypass has lost it's programming or is no longer working. Try to locate it to see what brand it is. it should be mounted somewhere up under the lower steering column plastic cover.

It has been a little cold this weekend in the east. Will try later in week to look. I believe it was factory installed (bought used). It does have Viper Security if that helps..

I hear you on the cold. I live in upstate NY...More than likely it is a Viper remote start/alarm then. The factory ones were Code Alarm. Either case, that doesn't help much. It's the installers preference as to what bypass was used. If it is Viper though, it should be a DEI bypass.
