Excursion engine swap.
I have a 04 Excursion XLT with the 5.4L Triton. I am looking into swapping the 5.4 out with a 7.3L. Any advice on this swap would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need a diesel trans, new engine wiring, and a PCM to start.

If you are currently subject to emissions testing, you may have an issue at test time. Since it varies by location in WA, if you don't already know, check here:
