There is no "reset" after a refill - there are probes in the DEF tank which measure level through continuity. You should immediately see the DEF gauge register full after refilling.
I am sorry that is my bad I was confused to how the system worked.
I understand how it works now.
I will probably go back to the dealer and request they check the level and go from there. I contacted ford and they said IF they indeed filled all the way it should have reset the next time it was driven.

Sooooooo according to the dealer they said oops.
I returned they checked and it was low 5.5 gal. They said the nozzle on the jugs are messed up and that it acts like it's full but it's not. Hmmmm
Whatever, so it's filled and the gauge reset as soon as I started the truck.

Thank you for everyones help.

Good for you. Always check the dealers work. We are all human and mistakes are made....

I wonder what DEF in the fuel tank would do? Act like water I suppose.

That's an $11,000 mistake. A few have tried and everyone failed... You don't want to be like THAT guy.

Im sure there would be damage involved! if not caught in time, replacement of the fuel system at the minimum. thats $8-9k easy
