So I've had this truck just over a month and I haven't had to fill upp to often. About a week ago I filled both tanks to the brim. I used the front tank till it was down about a half and then switched over to the rear tank. The gauge is pegged way over to the right and I figure that makes sense and travel on. I keep traveling on and the gauge doesn't move toward empty, or at least it doesn't seem to. I didn't run that far but the amount I did, I thought I might see it move. Is there a Jammy in the Whammy? Am I tripping?
I'd say close to 80 miles and some of it was a 4 wheel low climb from 7000 to 10,000 feet at not much more than idle.
You can crawl slow in 4 wheel low all day and it's surprising what little fuel is used. Then again it's a time thing vrs distance, not a MPG thing out on the open road with wind resistance.
IIRC, the service manual lists the fuel level sensor as being 145 ohms full, 22.5 ohms empty. However, I measured a couple of brand new ones from the factory (for front and rear tanks) and they were both 160 ohms full and 15 ohms empty. If you have extra resistance in the circuit (such as from corrosion on the connector) it will show as a higher than actual fuel level.
Okey dokes folks.. Didn't drive her today.. I'll burn up some fuel and see if the gauge drops .. I plan a trip to Santa Fe in the morning so that's at least 50 more miles round trip .. Thanks everyone, I just like everything to be right on my rig..
When I travel I fill up to the top of the neck and can go 70 to 80 miles before it starts moving down. I never do this in town, just when I'm going to take off down the road. I wish this was the case when I pull my 5er

People love to brag about MPG, I don't. Without that trailer behind my 5er you see in the picture I'll get 10mpg but I drive 70mph. Any less speed (RPM) then I always need to get out of OD and shifting all the time my MPG will actually go down. Seventy is just a 'sweet spot' power range for my 4:10 gears. By the way, nice picture! What is that 'Teshonka P3 brake controller'?
