Replaced my worn 50/50 manual bench with a 40/20/40 Power Lumbar bench. Couldn't find a wire to hook the lumbar into the appropriate connector, so took a wire from roughly under the right of the drivers seat and snipped the connector, using the wires to power the lumbar. Turns out, that line isn't getting power. What is the original use for this line? It was unplugged when I received it. My fuses look fine. Any suggestions? I don't feel like rigging up a whole new wire but I will if I have to.
That wire you snipped was for the seat belt light.
I just installed the same seats in mine and had to run new wires from the fuse panel.
Sucks for me though, I have power and the pumps work, but the bags won't inflate.

Interesting. Did you just run the wire down the side and under your carpet/rubber floor or another method? I've also heard about some sort of beam in the middle of the seat breaking the bags.
the seams in these bags let go. You can get the bag out by taking loose bottom of seat back and reach up inside pull loose 2 verticle rods pull out bag. Goto pullapart or jy, get bags from late '90s explorer better bags thicker & more flexible.

I went to a salvage yard and pulled the wires and wired everything up.
I've heard the same about the bags.

You wouldn't have any pictures handy on how it looks like inside the seat do you?
I may try that depending on how big of a pain it might be.
No pics, but not hard to do. I have buckets from '99 explorer but yours should be similar. At bottom rear of seat back, release seat cover ( push-pull type piece across bottom push up back of cover, you should see 2 vertical rods one on each side of air bag, pull them out of tube at the bottom(they have a sort of z shape so may need pliers to get them out) then pull out bag and rods disconnect air line and Presto done. Explorer bags were same size as my old captain's chairs so most likely all are same size.
I would think the power lumbar wire would already be in place on a 1995 model year truck.
There should be a Black/White wire from Circuit Breaker 12 for the power lumbar:
Circuit Breaker 12 may not be in the fuse panel if the truck did not come with factory power lumbar seats.
Circuit 12 is in the panel. Apparently it controls a variety of things. Where, roughly would the wire be (considering I have rubber floors)?
Would I be able to feel it underneath the flooring, or would it already be exposed? Thanks for all your help. I'm learning a lot.
