Thanks for your info on this , have done as suggested, and started from scratch ,have assembled front without the grille and it pulls up good . The sheet metal repair on the fenders is not 100% on the radius needed for the grille panel, well that is what I think at the moment will look again tomorrow !! Thanks again will keep in touch.
I had a real struggle getting my front end sheet metal back on my truck correctly. It looks, however, as though you are doing much better and are close to having your problems sorted out.
My struggles are documented in a thread started 9-10-15. The good people here on FTE patiently walked me through my difficulties. I'm old, but a real beginner when it comes to things mechanical. My thread shows what can happen when your front end sheet metal is installed incorrectly, and also includes the proper steps (order) for doing it correctly.
If your inside fenders are bowed out at the top (imagine some heavy thing across the top of the inside fenders) this will move the fenders out so the front fender gap appears too wide. Looking at your picture the back of the inner fenders is not the same distance from the cab on both sides (horizontal distance). There should be a Small 1/8" gap between the fenders and the upper valance (latch mount) for the anti-squeak. Do not be afraid to crank on the bolts, it is amazing how the gaps disappear, especially since you are not painted.
