We are having a pretty nasty winter here in Oregon, I have gone over the pass 3 times now in "chains required" situations and these have to be the best tires I have ever had in the snow and ice. I used to run AT's or MT's and have never ran a true snow tire. The only negative is they still throw a lot of rocks and road gravel.
I have really thought hard about that size in these Defenders. I have a set of factory 20's that I want to use. My only fear was being 35.1" tall, taller than the traditional 35x12.50, it would have a larger negative effect on the 6.2. Did you notice a drop in performance and are you totally stock and have no clearance issues? Thanks
I have this tire on a few vehicles now after seeing it in action off road in Colorado on a jeep over some large boulders etc., and after seeing how well it wears on my friend's '03 F350. I have one of the smallest sizes (Subaru XT) an intermediate size (exped.) and now this size. In each variation it'll pick up different size rocks I realized but with the LT295/65r20 the tread blocks are surprisingly far apart, so I actually haven't had any issues with rocks/gravel yet. And just in case I put my mud flaps back on.
As far as fitment and performance I have .5-1 inch of clearance between the tires and radius arm on both sides. I can fit husky mud flaps on no problem. I do not have a lift or level, fully stock. I have the 3.73 rear end so it might be a little slower on take off but that may just be perceived because they are a lot quieter/smoother.
Fit no problem, performance (engine/gears) no difference
