Deer hit me

I ran over top of a deer in my truck, knew I couldnt stop in time, so I floored it,
the deer was tiny,
and it didnt make it to the other side of the road,
It didnt hurt my truck at all,
I just have liability, $25 a month,
but if I had full coverage insurance, I would have it checked out.

How much if an increase?

Can't see most appraisers/adjusters looking past the rust that is existing + age of vehicle.
And should they pay off to make "like new" or the cost of pre-damage, nothing but a rate increase forthcoming.
A not worth it increase.

My insurance agent made a direct statement that they do not factor comprehensive claims in their rates and this will not increase my rates.

As for the like new statement, that was info from the vo-tech body shop teacher back I'd say about 15 years ago. He never left the auto body industry entirely until retirement.

The body shop may be intending to paint the whole truck for a proper color match. I had quotes between 1900 (aftermarket door) to 2800 (Ford door) for a dented driver door after someone backed into my truck in a parking lot. The shop was going to paint the whole truck. Still have that dent...

It does Not take long for good body work to add up.
Any shop worth taking it to will charge $500 PER panel they are painting. That does NOT include any body work, that is just prepping the panel for paint and painting it. So figure a regular cab pickup..... 1 tailgate, 2 bed sides, 2 doors, 2 fenders, 1 hood and 1 roof. That is $4500 JUST TO PAINT

I'm with yas on how quick it adds up. that's why I asked what gets fixed. Over a $2100 full paint job I would remove all the shiny stuff, get a used bumper, or not... And a small lift with some new tires. Or put no money in the truck's appearance and go order the M1A of my dreams and a few hundred rounds to make sure it works.
I surely wouldn't bother painting one side of a trucks bed and nothing else. To each their own of course but my vote is take the money and run.
