Bill / Dave tuning discussion

Does anyone have the link to the PHP / Swamps discussion where they where discussing the FPW duration and ICP pressures of tuning and the relationship between them.

Thanks in advance.

The timing is too coincidental.... Is this a reaction to my recent thread on the matter? [LINK]

Maybe. I posted the same link in a thread about two to three weeks ago.

No there was a issue in the 6.0 forum where he was only getting 2000 psi and 85% on the IPR and was looking for an air leak issue. He had an extreme race tune loaded. Long story short he finally went back to stock programming and finally was able to achieve 4000 psi at 71%
I remember reading this discussion awhile ago how when you raise the FPW you loose some ICP.

Yeah... you lose a lot of ICP when the FIPW stretches its legs.

Accordingly, are you going to add something at some point in reference to the "Stinky Spike" that many of us have experienced and that you led me away from post similar tuning experiences?

Yeah... it's coming. It will be a media frenzy (in that I have a lot of graphs to back up what I say).

I have experienced what it feels like in the truck while the FIPW goes long, and that's how my search for the answer started. It was driving me crazy until I stumbled onto the answer - then in search of verification of my theory, I was totally bombarded with confirming data.

Typically... people would rather stick with what they have. Most people don't have the means or inclination to take the hit of selling their chip and starting over. Some had the issue with their TS chip, and a re-burn is not as expensive - but there's that time without the chip where you feel neutered.

Having a case of OCD, I opted to take the hit and try another tuner. Wow.... You don't have to be OCD to appreciate the difference between a hot tune and a balanced tune - even on a stock truck. The long FIPW robs one of so much power that you can feel it in the seat - but if you never tried a performance tune without the long FIPW, you wouldn't know what you're missing.

In one sentence, this is the difference: When the FIPW is in line, the power does not fade at the higher RPMs - and you don't feel a surge or loss of power when you upshift to 4th gear.
