$4500 for '75 Bronco?
The engine is a newly rebuilt 351
The transmission is a newly rebuilt automatic
It was a father & son project truck. They said they rebuilt the engine themselves but had a shop rebuild the transmission.
The guy is a friend of a friend & seems pretty cool. He told me if he were me he'd replace the headers in another 6 months after the winter, but other than that the truck is pretty solid.
He was happy to let me drive it tomorrow which I plan to do if my loan comes through.
The body paint is the brown color and has a few very small dents here and there, but no large ones & there is no rust on the body at all. Paint is actually in pretty good shape & looks to be the original paint. There is one patch of bondo about 3" x 12" on the front fender which is ton super well. I couldn't even tell it was bondo but my mechanic friend said they did a good job on it.
There appears to be a small oil link my mechanic friend said, but he wasn't worried about it & said we could fix it, even if it was the rear main seal which he said was the worst possibility that he could see it being.
The inside is super clean, they said they have a bench for the rear but haven't put it in yet, plus the bikini top & the hard top (haven't seen the hard top yet so not sure as to the condition).
The engine is really nice. Valves are painted, has a 4 barrel carb which is still shiny.
He's asking $4500 for it... whatdya think? Yay or Nay?
As long as they are being honest about the engine/tranny being rebuilt, it's in really good shape. The inside even has a new CD player.
2X what he said. The real problem is the rust U can't see - c'mon on it's 40 yrs old. Then if not up on mechanics the rest is a sleeper 4 U. Pay some1 U trust & who knows their stuff.
I usually ask the mechanic "what will go next?" or "How much to get it in (blank) condition"? If U get us some pic & details on your location we may help you zero in on price after we hear condition...
Good Luck, stay in touch
