I was just out in the garage counting clips, and I'm quite a few clips short (the bad part of having FOUR DOORS
Anyways, one other thing that occurred to me while going through the big zip-loc bag of trinkets is that people also need to be aware that there are supposed to be thin wooden spacer blocks that go behind the plastic insert panel to support the panel when the arm rests are screwed over top of the insert.
I'm not sure I have enough of them, but at least I have a sample or two to go by when the time comes to make up more of them.....

I called Carolina Classics yesterday, thinking that the clips not showing up on their webpage was because of the major revamp to the site.
Well, turns out their supplier is no longer making them, as they felt the demand isn't there.
He gave me the supplier's name, and when I called they do have about 100 clips left in stock (after my order to top up my quantity on hand to where it needs to be to do all four doors on a Crewcab)

How many clips would I need to install the trim on 2 doors?
They now have 70.
26 were used in total when new, but if you run the newer ABS reproduction panels then I believe they don't use the two in the front center so 24 in that case.
That's not a bad price at all. The clips are reproduced, but at $1.60 each and you need 26 total that's over $40 just for the clips so if you can get them it never hurts.
The corners are the pieces that are most often missing. Only one clip held them on, other than where they come into contact with the upper or lower pieces. People would hit them with their elbows and loosen them up and eventually they fall off if you don't keep an eye on them.
.
The clips were reproduced but no longer. I contacted the company that was making them (can't recall the name offhand) and they have no plans to make any more. Good luck finding them. I think it's definitely worth going back for the clips. I got lucky and found a set in Kentucky.

First I called Carolina Classics who told me they were no longer being made. They told me to contact Melvin's, and maybe they would make more if enough people were interested. Melvin's told me they had no more and didn't plan to make them again.
Well, that is odd, but they must have found some inventory somewhere, because myself & at least a couple others have ordered some today

Well Lads, I just got a PM from one of the members on the other channel, and he ordered his online from Melvin's yesterday, and has since received a notification that they no longer have stock to fulfil his order, so all of the 100 plus they had yesterday when I ordered mine (BY PHONE) have been scooped up!
I understand that Melvin is about to retire, and his son is buying the business from him, so it is possible that once they get ownership changed over they may commission another production run, so it couldn't hurt to check back in a few months....
If you plan on selling those trim pieces for a reasonable amount give me a shout , I refuse to pay those TV Show prices they are wanting on EBAY . It seems that ever since those NOT so reality TV shows restoring cars came out lieing about what they pay for parts and sell stuff for the ebay prices skyrocketed . Funny thing is .... those high priced parts never seem to sell and are almost always relisted when the auction time runs out .
