Merry Belated Christmas fellas, I took the elevator up from the OBS 7.3 section. I've been considering an EX for a couple weeks now and came up here to read a thing or two. I was looking in the Tech section above but didnt see a buyers guide for lack of a better term; also did an advanced search which yeilded a big goose egg.... If such a thing exists could someone please link it to me? Appreciate it fellas, have a Happy New Year and hopefully I'll spend a little more
time up here at some point.
Not sure if you will find one here or not. One word of advice for looking for a 6.0 PS is to run the vin at the Ford Dealer to see what kind of service records are there. I've seen trucks that were there all the time and seem to have constant issues. Others have been only for an item or two. Also be cautious about people that say they are studded and bulletproof. You can see the actual studs/bolts below the valve covers. EGR delete is easy to see on the passenger side of the engine. Look around the degas bottle for residue and ensure the coolant is at the proper level. I drove one that wasn't throwing up and when I looked it was because the coolant was really low to hide it. Once to the proper level it would throw up quick. Good luck on your hunt and ask if you have any questions.
