Questions about ready lift

Been looking hard at the 3.5" ready lift. There are a few different kits for the 11-16 super duty.
One kit can be found for $539 vs 799 for the kit specifically for my truck. One difference is 1 vs 2 piece rear drive shaft. I have the 1 piece driveshaft. But I figured the only difference is the kit for 2 piece driveshaft comes with the carrier bearing spacer. I just would not use the spacer. Is there a difference in the rear blocks or something? Also kit #69-2531 is the one that can be bought for $539. It says for diesel only, I have a 6.2. If this was a coil spring kit, I would understand. But with a 3.5" spacer, what in the world would be different? Someone feel me in, it doesn't make sense to me.

I have the 3.5 system on my truck. I have a 1 piece drive shaft like yourself, but purchased the 2 piece kit. Only difference is the carrier bearing shim. Rear blocks are identical (5") to replace the stock 4" in each kit for a F350 anyhow.

As far as it working on your 6.2...I don't think you will have any issue. I think they designed these kits to work for the heavier 6.7 diesels, but will work on any superduty. if you look on their website, the kit that is for 1 piece shaft says nothing about diesel engine

3.5" front / 1.0"-3.0" Rear - 2008-2010 Ford Super Duty 3.5" Lift Kit

but the one with 2 piece says "made to fit super duties equipped with diesel engine"...doesn't say for diesel engine ONLY.

I think you'll be fine.

Thanks for verifying the drive shaft differences. I wonder why they offer three different part #'s? Maybe just a marketing deal.

It specifically says not for gas on ready lifts site.
And how can one 3.5" kit say max tire 35" and another 3.5" say 37"? I'm going to call them.

Sorry about that...I read right over that statement on the 2 piece kit link. I did see where the 2 piece kit said it was made to fit diesel engines (1st sentence) though. The 1 piece kit does not say anything in regards to being diesel only or not for 6.2L. But, as you are doing, I'd call, because the kit that says it's for 1 piece, says in the description it is for 2 piece. A lot of contradicting things.

Only thing I can see from the photos is the 69-2531 comes with front sway bar drop brackets, the 69-2538 does not show them in the picture...of course that could be an error as well...

****, I keep looking at both pages now and I'm confusing myself because how confusing it seems...lol

I don't know why either would not work on the 6.2 as you stated. I know though the 2531 kit is for 2 piece shaft 6.7L, but works for the 1 piece shaft 6.7L as that is what I installed on mine. just omitted the CB spacer.

Hope you get a hold of them and get it figured out!

Just got off the phone with readylift. There is in fact a difference in the rear blocks. The blocks are tapered differently with 1 vs 2 piece driveshafts to help with driveline vibration. The deal with the diesel only is the driveshaft contacting the catalytic converter on gas applications, which I had heard of before but had forgotten. This is only going to happen if you are flexing the suspension out. The converter can also be "tweaked"(I took that as massaging with a hammer), to eliminate rubbing. I'm not going to be off-roading this truck other than some gravel mountain fire roads with some creek crossing so I'm really not worried about that.

I forgot to mention...
I had asked about 35" tire vs 37" tire fitment difference in the ads. He clarified it like this. With a zero offset wheel(which is what I had planned on running), a 37" tire will fit on a f250. If you try to run less offset, 35" is max. This is what I had already assumed. I'm not sure what the most offset you can run without rubbing the radius arms is with a 37x12.50, but I assume it's around +18. But that will have nothing to do with the lift.

He also told me, a 37" tire would fit with a 2.5" lift on a f350 with 0 offset. Just thought I would throw that out there for someone that uses the search function in the future.
