I'd be really interested to see a similar video with a 5th wheel. I know they are more stable, but don't know how sensitive they are to loading vs a tag along trailer.

That's why I would never tow with a Mustang.

Concept is the same whether you are towing with a Mustang or an F450. Obviously, an F450 is more tolerant due to the higher weight, but load 30k lbs improperly in the same proportions as this video and you'll have the same problem.

While waiting for my new truck I sold my '15 F350. I have to drive 600 miles round trip with my wife's Escape towing my RZR. I had to adjust my load a couple times to get it to tow comfortably.

This made me want my new truck that much more.

Am I the only one here that has had this happen to them? I'm glad it did because I'm a bit smarter now because of it.
i had a 1997 Ford E250 extended cargo van. Had a 16' trailer and loaded a mini bobcat excavator on it. I put the excavator all the way to the back of the trailer because it pushed the back of the van dam near to the ground. All of the weight was on the trailer's axles.
All was well until I got on the interstate and got it up to 60mph. Yeah, I have no idea how the rear tires stayed on their rims. How the van didn't roll I'll never know. I learned a very valuable lesson that daily and I'll never do that again.

My daughter wanted to tow a small trailer with her Focus to Ft Bliss, Tx. I threatened to kill her if the trip didn't.

Wouldn't be a problem if properly sized and loaded. I usde to tow a small 4'x8' utility trailer configured to haul my GSXR750. Towed it with a Honda Civic Coupe all over the country in my active duty days. Never had a problem and if IIRC, that car had in excess of 225K miles when I sold it.
