4R100 spec questions
Looks like the original automatic tranny in my 01 2wd 6.8L Limited is going out.
Found debris in the pan and the shifts are not normal lately.
Ive called around some on having it rebuilt. Looking at around $1800
Have been entertaining option of just buy one off someone online and saving a few bucks but wondering if all the specs of trannies from different years?
I know that the excursions, larger F series trucks and E series vans used this transmission but are they different form year to year or can I get any 4r100 from 2001 to 2005 and it work? Thanks for the info / help

You could get a transmission from a 4x2 V10 from 2000-2004 and it will work. 2004 was the last year for the 4R100, except for a few in 2005 Excursions. It wasn't in the E and F series after 2004.
