Looking for ideas on common fuel leaks. It seemail to be from back of the engine. Can't pinpoint the exact spot. Are there any commonest areas to look or comments issues where fuel leaks on these? It's my dads trucks well maintained, 176,000 miles.
Most common are the drain valve on the back of the fuel bowl. This bowl is mounted toward the front of the engine on top.
The other common place is the fuel line that runs from the fuel bowl to the back of the passenger side head. There is a clamp on this line that rubs a hole in it. It is located about mid way from front to back of the head.
If fuel is running down the back of the engine then you may have leaked enough to fill the valley of the motor. The valley has a drain hole in the back that drains excess fluid and it usually ends up on the tranny bell housing and starter on the passenger side of the motor
If it is that line you want to get it taken care of before it blows as it will leave you stranded
I will bet the leak is fuel bowl related. Was the bowl filter recently changed? It could be leaking at the top seal.
nothing has been recently changed. It looks wet on back of fuel bowl where a snap ring is. Also looks wet back towards back of head too. Doesn't look like we'll know for sure till we remove parts and start getting deeper. I was hoping to see what it was easier

I am borrowing this from another poster on another thread.
Get a roll of paper towels. Put paper towels at possible leak points and after a day of usual driving, check the towels. The wet towel(s) are at the leak.
EDIT I see you have many posts.
