Ok, l have a 1968 302. I rebuilt it in the 80's it is basically a stock engine with long tube headers edelbrock street performer intake and carb. I also have a stock duraspark ignition. I just put the intake and carb in there and l realized l have never changed the plugs since the rebuild.
What plugs work good in these old ford engines these days but, dont cost 10 bucks each?
Champion is unfortunately not of the same reputation as they once were, whether that's justified or not I can't say. I run Autolite 45 in my Y block and they are a little too hot for extended highway use. BF-32 is recommended for that, but the NOS are a little spendy, sometimes eBay will have some reasonable. NGK does make good plugs.
Just your standard Autolite Copper plugs is what you want. You can buy these at Wally World for a couple dollars a piece
I have similar set up in the 65 F100; 68 302, Edlebrock, Holley, Hooker long tubes, Autolite Copper, and with DS ll; gaped between 40-45. Suggest after X number of miles pull few plugs to determine if burning properly; if not, make appropriate adjustment; in my case, with the Holley swapped jets.
