Yep, thats the one I was thinking. Howd you rig a permanent gauge? What is the normal reading at that port? I might just test it the way it is tomorrow. A small seap shouldnt affect it all that much. Should I install the blue spring gimmick while Im in there? I figured Id just order a kit and the gasket and everything comes with it.
Btw, that truck in my sig is my last truck. This one is a 2004 F250 CC just havent had a chance to change it.

Oh okay. Sounds like it's an early 04 though with the ICP back next to the IPR.
For the permanent gauge you just replace the plug with an adapter that steps it down to 1/8 npt. Then a pressure sensor screws in and you run the wires to the gauge.
Before the blue spring I'd see mid 50's, after I see about 70 psi. Yes IMO the blue spring should always be done on any 6.0 if it hasn't been done already, but they can be done separately and doing one doesn't "break the seal" of the other when doing it.
Man, if I have to pull all of that out just to unplug it I might as well replace it.

I think there's a diesel tech ron video on the blue spring. He shows how to do it without really removing anything, using a big bar to hold the upper radiator hose out of the way.
I may have just lucked out...theres a sensor on my passenger side valve cover that looks exactly like an ICP. My truck build date is 06/04. But Id swear I can see what looks to be a similar sensor below my turbo. Can anyone tell me my engine build date and if the valve cover sensor im looking at is the ICP? Here is my VIN: 1FTNW21P64ED88727
Replaced my ICP today and the truck runs fantastic. Smooth throttle operation and Id swear more power and throttle response. It drives and runs noticeably better. I drove it all over tonight and cannot get it to fluctuate rpm, stall out, surge, nothing. I dont feel like the ICP could have fixed the issue, but at least its running better. Have a blue spring kit coming, and going to source the parts for a fuel pressure gauge. Symptons felt more fuel related. No pedal, low idle, no power, fluctuating idle, surging, stall, and no start all seem fuel related. Can the ICP cause all of those things?
in my experience with bad ICP sensors I've had symptoms consisting of surging, lurching ,rough idle, intermittent dead pedal and low power at take off. My last go around with a bad ICP sensor my truck shut down while driving. I was lucky enough to be on a road that wasn't busy. Glad you figured it out!
I think the list of symptoms you can't have from a funky ICP sensor is shorter than the list of symptoms you can have. How it will act will totally depend on what the ICP is doing. I think it's perfectly reasonable that the ICP was the problem.
Since my drive everyday is 80% interstate I havent driven it to work. I will drive it to work tomorrow and all weekend and see how it does. It always seemed to happen in 5pm traffic on the interstate surrounded by a million people that wouldnt let me over to the side. Thanks for all of the help! Ill update.
