So, I bought my new f350 without cab clearance lights with the assurance they would put them on as soon as they could get the lights and harness delivered in. I wasn't concerned as they've done this for me before and done a nice job. I've been waiting for a few weeks now for them to get the wire harness and my dealer called me tonight and they're not sure they can do it this time as the hole for the new light is square and they kind of snap into it. He is not sure how to make a nice even square hole and thus is concerned about leaks. I like my cab lights and if I'd known I couldn't have put them on I would've waited and gotten a different truck that had them. Has anyone dealt with this yet?

yeah, the more I read these posts the more I'm convinced to never trust that you can add things later...seems everything can be done, but until you actually take it apart and start working on it you just don't know for sure how much it will end up costing.
Thanks. I'll try to find that post. It is frustrating how they make it difficult to add things later. Drilling a hole for cab lights was far too simple. Hey, let's make it a square hole instead
just have the dealer replace the top skin of the cab of your truck if you want it to look oem. mine was replaced on my truck due to hail and they added a skin with cab light holes.

Let me get this straight in my mind...square hole, lights snap in...and are not going to leak as I run down the road at 70 mph in a driving rain?
Having a hard time with that, the light needs to be affixed in some way as to prevent leaking and a snap in be it square or round ain't happening IMO.
Where is my thinking wrong on this.
I just ordered the lights and wiring to do this (not me, the dealer) will post on status as things progress.
My truck is at the dealer getting a new overhead console and 3 new cab lights. Leaked during the detail when I went in to pick it up, the day it arrived. I took it home and the sunshade buttons quit working that night, the sunroof buttons wouldn't work and sunroof opened when I turned on the map lights Waiting on Parts took a week

I think it snaps in on one side and screws down on the other.
