I'm getting ready to have my leafs rearched, I have the measurment for eye to eye and depth, what I don't know is how much space is between the top of the leaf spring to the bottom of the frame for a stock height F100. So if anyone has some time they could measure this it would be most apprericated. Thanks
Why not just install new ones? I've known guys that have had them redone by bending the old ones, but ended up needing to replace with new - old metal lost it's strength.
There are places around that can build you new ones to factory specs or modify them to your needs.
Re-arcing does work, but what does that really mean?
"Cold forming" is what is often meant by this. It may not last very long. How much are they charging? "True" re-arcing means they are heated to cherry red and formed, quenched, shot-peened and the rest of it. Labor intensive and expensive, only cost effective on restorations of high dollar rarity classics.
Keep in mind for anyone thinking about this, shackles and bushings and hardware also need to be replaced, and the forwardmost bushings on these slicks are integral to the frame. They can be a bitch to remove. It will ride, handle, and brake a WHOLE lot better with fresh springs, bushings and shocks. It is worth doing.
Look, if I had asked for opinions on "re-arching" or if new springs were available then his answer would have been correct.. But I didn't!! I simply asked if anyone could take a measurement for me.. that simple,
I find your attitude to be off-putting and rude, not just in this thread, but in other threads of yours that I have read. This is not your personal web site for Robert R Peak support. You are posting on the World Wide Web. You are likely to get a variety of mixed responses. If you don't like them, ignore those responses, but don't get rude with people you don't know and have never met.
You have not even mentioned in this thread what year your truck is. Details might help with getting an answer, but I fear it is too late for you and others might not feel so inclined to help you now.
I come on here every day and answer a lot of questions. I rarely ask any questions of my own. It's an attitude of generosity and sharing.

You know, I was done with this, until your post. We are in a forum for 61-66 ford trucks, straight axles only in 61-64 its an F100, pretty much covers it...
[What's your attitude?]
Whats the point of asking a question and getting answers that are not what you ask for? Seems a bit DUH to me..... I didn't twist any ones arm to respond,
So you can keep responding to this or call it over.... I will not be here to read any thing you post...
And thanks to the member who sent a PM with the answer to my question

The 4WD trucks are also considered straight axle so it doesn't really cover anything, no.
