Decision made. Ordered SD!

Thanks to all who helped me make this decision. Received lots of good feedback from my earlier thread:"Second guessing F-150 plan. Now leaning toward SD".

Ordered F250 Lariat, CCSB, 6.2L, 4.30.
Delivery expected early February.
Looking forward to having a great summer w/ this truck.

I am surprised that the SD does not have a "dampened" slow release tailgate (at least on my "Value Package" Lariat). Anyone know of a good kit and if this is a simple install?

Congrats! I will be ordering one very similar sometime in the next few months.

Check out out the tailgate assist made by DeeZee....not sure if they have one yet available for the 2017 SD.

You can buy the Ford tailgate damper which installs inside the brake light and is hidden for like $75 from ford accessories. Otherwise deezee is outside and visible and works for $30

Great truck, I think you will be very pleased. Good engine / gearing combo.

Lariat Ultimate and higher gives you the electric release tailgate with slow open. But as others have mentioned there is the Ford accessory or the aftermarket.
