Curveball!!
Gear
Fuzzface; the other end of the newer cable had the threaded collar that fit the speedo in the cab perfectly. I don't think the tranny end has the outer threads, you have to unbolt the clip and pull it out.
Crop duster; I must've missed something but I haven't seen any small gear like the one in your pic, this may be the root of all my speedo problems.
Daveengelson; Is this the same gear that cropduster is referring to?? Are you saying that there are different types and they may be gear ratio specific? I haven't reviewed the charts you pointed out yet but I plan to after this reply.
Numberdummy; Is the gauge end of C7ZZ-17260-J the same as what's in my 65?? Not sure what the truck had in it originally but here is vin for decoding, I've been meaning to ask someone for this information any way F10JL676844

Also you need to look into the transmission where the cable goes and see if you can make out the color or the number of teeth on the drive gear on the tail shaft. Their speedometer guy will need to know that before he can get you the right parts. Hopefully that gear isn't damaged or missing because if it is that's a whole nother thread.

X2 on using PATC to sort out your speedo cable. They were very helpful to me in getting the right gear for my NV4500 conversion. Something else they may need in the way of information from you is your (rear) tire height in addition to your rear gears (you said new 3.50s) and speedo drive gear, the one Crop Duster is talking about. Good luck!
