What's a decent cover without going overboard on price
You're pretty much gonna get what you pay for, but I've got two of them.
The 150 has a Truxedo LoPro QT. I only have it on during the summer, but I can say it's a top notch cover. No leaks, no flapping, and looks good.
The Ranger has an Access LTD. I've had it on there for over 12 years, summer and winter both. Same as the Truxedo, no leaks, no flapping, and is still doing fine.
I do treat both of them with Aerospace 303 once or twice during the nicer months.
You can't go wrong with either. Both have lifetime warranty.
BTW, these are both rollup types.
Bought my dad a basic cover from Meijers a couple of years back, and he ran it for a while on his last truck before trading it in. Kept the cover and put it on his new truck... Its probably 4 years old now and still looks great.
When I bought my '11 (used) it came with a Extang Trifecta in great condition. Really like it, and its doing well but it is definitely showign some wear; some due to slightly abusive moments.
It really depends on your needs, wants, and what you like. There are many great options out there. For example, I have a Peragon cover on my truck. Now it's not 100% water tight, but it's not bad either. I love my Peragon cover because it serves my purpose and looks great. Add the fact that they are a site sponsor and it was a win, win for me.
I bought this curio cabinet a couple of months ago and had to transport it in a torrential down pour about 100 miles back home. I laid it flat under the cover wrapped in moving pads and blankets for added protection. And it turned out I didn't need them since the blankets, moving pads and cabinet were bone dry.
I also chose the Peragon because I need something that adds more security than most standard roll up/folding covers offer. And this one fit the bill perfectly. I have mine for going on 2 years now and it still looks awesome.

I've had some sort of "cheap" tonneau on whatever truck I've run for over 25 years. Cheap being less than $200. That gets you an aluminum framed snap on cover. The first few I owned were the Sportmasters brand. Great covers for the price, sadly when the economy went south, so did Sportmasters. I've used a couple of different ones since then but currently have an Extang similar to this .https://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Extan...=p_89%3AExtang
Fancy? Not a bit. Easy to take on and off or to simply get out of the way and keeps whatever I have under them covered up and dry. I keep a truck 4-5 years (100-150K miles) and using the covers the way I do, where I do, they work great.
I have to second the Peragon vote. I've had a lot of covers...two soft rollers, and two BakFlips, and I must say that the Peragon offering is top notch. Heath Copp has built himself a great company and a very good product. They are direct to consumer (no middle man) so the cost is much less than it would be if a retailer were involved.
Prices start around $700, and they now have a clamp on version...you need to call and request that...it's a $30 upgrade but it's well worth the money. I'm running their clamp kit and it's quite nice.
I just put on a Lund Genesis Elite rollup cover on my 2012 Platinum over the past weekend. Cost was around $180 after rebate. My first time with a cover, time will tell how things hold up.
