I really don't see a need for one personally. I have used drop down hitches on every small bumper pull trailers and really haven't had any problem what so ever with them. Now if you were talking about the cushion 5th wheel hitches then yes they really do help on them.
I have this on my gooseneck.......
And when running with a light load, it doesn't do much, but the heavier the load, the more noticeable it becomes. Even though it is adjustable for the weight by adjusting the air pressure i n the air bag.
I have never used a cushion hitch for a bumper pull, though.
I will be pulling 10-11k from the bumper. Would that help?
I don't really know, but the mine is a "Shocker hitch" and they make various configurations.
Here is a link to their web page. Shocker Hitch - Air Suspension Trailer Hitches

Not helpful but I bought the 12" drop cushion ball mount from etrailer for my wife's truck, just haven't used it yet. Bought it so we could pull our 16' tandem axle with the four wheelers while we were waiting on my truck but never went anywhere.
