Front axle
One of my friends worships his Chevy. I explained to him that the steering wheel on the Chevy is not perpendicular to the axis of his truck. In order to miss the mechanicals the steering wheels are canted toward the center of the truck. He of course denied it, until I saw him a couple of days later. Now it bothers the heck out of him and he is pizzed I ever said anything.
If you're talking about the entire axle (not just the differential), then I would say this is normal. It's an inherent effect with the old-school solid front axle. The track bar pulls the axle slightly toward the driver's side at rest, but the axle centers up when the suspension is under compression. It becomes more noticeable if the truck is lifted slightly without a track bar drop bracket. I also believe the snow plow prep trucks sit higher in the front, making it slighlty more noticeable.
wow I am glad someone else noticed I thought I was crazy. when I put 35/12.50/20 0n my stock rims I noticed there was a difference side to side both front and back One side is perfect the edge of the tire is just about a 1/2 inch beyond the fender on the other side it is about 1/2 inch inside the fender. it is the same front and back. the passenger side in the side that is in and driver out. any clue?
