Do you mean front solid axles on 4X4s?

If so, then the F-150s had them through 1979. In 1980, they went to the hinged or pivoting front axle, and in '97 they went to the torsion bar set up.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think almost all F-250 and F-350s have solid front axles.

I believe straight axles went to twin "I" beam in 1965.

the f100 and f250 had a straight axle until '65 when ford came out with twin i-beam suspension. The f350 had a straight axle until '66 or '67...

Sorry to butt in on your postbut thwats the differnce between a stragith axle and a solid axle. I am pretty sure the F250 and F350's until 79 had a solid front axle Dana 60 did they not? Then again in 89 or so they put them back in the F350's. Correct me if I am wrong.
