So I bought an 06 F250 with a 5.4 3v about a month ago.
I had an employee driving it today. While on the highway, it made an awful noise, smelt like it was burning and the engine died.
It now will not start. Electrical is all fine, but when you turn the key you can hear the starter click but not turn over.
I had a friend look at it, he tried turning the engine with a bar and tells me my engine is seized.
I have been having problems with emissions and determined the cat is bad. Someone told me a bad cat can overheat an engine and seize it up. Not sure if this is true.
Oil is fine, did it a month ago as well as new plugs.
I am hoping it is not an engine, or I will have a very big $6000 paper weight.
Can any one help me rule out anything else that could be wrong? Can a starter seize while the truck is moving and prevent the engine from turning manually?
Thanks so much.. this forum is incredible. Very greatfull to you all.
