So she is at the shop now, and it is indeed the Primary Radiator that is leaking. They don't have the part in stock, but should be getting it tomorrow. They should have the truck back to me by tomorrow or saturday, with a cost of $1560!

Oh and the quote I got for the ESP was directly from Ford Corporate, not my dealer. It wouldn't have helped me on this repair though since the truck was already leaking and the ESP wasn't in place.

Ford Corporate is going to quote you full MSRP, no discount at all. Not saying it would help in your situation, just for others, do not judge the price of the ESP based on what the local dealer - or Ford Corporate - quotes. There are DEEP discounters out there. On mine, MSRP was something like $4K, dealer said they could not possibly do better than $2.5K, Flood Ford online $1.5K. Exactly the same product. Manufacturers and dealers love extended warrantees - they are the highest margin products they sell.

I will have to check this out because I was hoping to keep this truck a long time!

Edit: After looking into Ford Flood ESP, the Diesel Engine Care Plus, which covers 21 components is only for vehicles under 36K miles. It also doesn't cover the radiator. The only extended plan that my truck is eligible for is the Diesel Engine Care and that also doesn't cover the radiator.

One reason I have Geico's MBI. Bumper to Bumper for 100K/7 years.

$250.00 Deductible is all you pay...that would also include water in the fuel issues.

Works for me.

Yeah, I think you have to buy the ESP when under 36m/36K miles - true of most makes. Further, the price is a little lower when bought within 12 months of original sale (build date/model year does not matter). You are beyond all that, I just wanted to make sure anyone reading the thread didn't think the ESP is outrageously priced, just because a dealer or Ford quoted an outrageous price.

The plan that I quoted was for bumper to bumper for an additional 60,000 miles, or 3 years. It probably would have helped if I stated that. Seems like the ESP 21 component that was roughly $2550 was not bumper to bumper.

I am thinking ford should just build a 100,000/7 year bumper to bumper warranty into their pricing like the new Nissan does.

Yeah, with the cost of these trucks, I think it's already there and we just don't get it.

2015, 129,500 miles. It's normal for me, all my trucks get the radiator leak. It's the only recurring issue I've had since 2008 so it is what it is, could be worse. The truck earns us a whole lot more than that.

That's still not great but, expected. i feel the same way about my truck
50 thousand a year parts wearing out are to be expected but a radiator ?? time would do that not mileage . My 6.0 never had a radiator problem however the rest of the truck that's another story lol 187,000 sold original radiator

I hear what you are saying, and overall I'm extremely happy with this truck especially comparing to my 6.0 and my 6.4. But I don't think it is acceptable that the same exact part fails multiples times over the course of ownership. And the other thing is... this isn't uncommon. It seems like a significant problem that Ford isn't really taking seriously.

$1560 for me... cost of doing business up here I guess. My truck was supposed to be done on Friday, but the new radiator they got in was damaged upon arrival and leaked. The new radiator should be in today and I might be picking her up tonight. Driving around my 06' F350 plow truck now and man it is like driving a brick.

I picked up my truck yesterday from the dealership and I was pretty disappointed. I drive the truck back to work and instantly notice a new noise, that sounds like it is coming from the AC compressor turning on and off. I am not sure where it is located in comparison to the radiators or how it could be affected by the repair. So when I get back to work I decide to pop the hood. First thing I notice is they under filled the radiator. There was nothing showing on the degas bottle at all. And finally while inspecting the headlights the failed to replace 2 bolts on one headlight and one bolt on the other headlight. If this is the kind of quality control they allow out there door I am terrified to think what was missed in the replacement of the radiator.

And my final gripe:
I went to parts department prior to scheduling the repair to see how much the radiator was if were to do the repair myself. They quoted my $525 for the rad assembly. Deciding against doing it myself and letting the dealer do it... they quoted the rad assembly at $650. I was able to get them to honor my previous quote. #thumbsdown
