I have a 97 f250 7.3 powerstroke we replaced the engine in in with a running engine, we get the engine in the truck we get it all hooked up all the sensors are new, rebuilt the injectors brand new glow plugs new starter but now she won't start we tried a little bit either but she backfired please help I need this truck to go down to fire academy
If you have had the injectors out, it can take several minutes of cranking to get oil back into the rails, and pressurized, so the injectors will fire.
Stop spraying ether its going to damage your engine, as Tom mentioned is just air in the HPO system and air in the fuel system. Make sure your batteries are fully charge and make sure your voltage don't dip below 10,5 volts when cranking.

Reason: missed words.
Keep a battery charger on it and crank 10 seconds at a time waiting 3-5 minutes between cranks. Much more than that and you could burn the starter up. I have had to do this as long as 2 hours on some trucks to get the air out of the HPO system after having injectors out.
