My truck made it to Texas on Sunday and finally hopped a ride on a truck to the dealership today. I was hoping that Rob's would beat mine but looks like it didn't.
'17 KR Caribou monotone with the chrome package. Toyo Open Country AT II's are on order as is a Pace Edwards Switchblade bedcover.
I only put about 20 miles on it so not much feedback to give yet other than the steering at slow speeds takes way more effort than previous SD's or my F150.
What else would a true Texas have but a King Ranch
Months ago some said they didn't like the interior because it looked green. It doesn't look green to me.
This truck has the 10K GVWR package so you will have to add 1500 lbs to get the true payload
Congrats, she's a beauty! I almost went with this exact package, ended up with the Lariat Ultimate in Caribou. Now I'm getting damn excited to receive mine in Jan. Good to see another Caribou brother on here as well!
Thanks Rodney. When it didn't turn up by Tuesday my salesman called the freight terminal, of course they were waiting for a full load before they trekked north 70 miles. As they were unloading it off of the transport, the Ford rep out of Dallas called the dealership and then sent me an email this afternoon. They keep apologizing but I don't won't an apology. I want Ford in the future to get their act together, get the retail orders in before the stock ones and be upfront with us and tell us when there are delays and what the delays are.

Thanks. I have had two ruby red metallics in the past so I didn't want that color. I didn't want gray, black or white so I was limited to what I could pick. I liked caribou the best and am now glad that I picked it. I will post some more pixs tomorrow

Size difference between my '16 F150 and my '17 SD
Good to see a Caribou truck, it is what we ordered, supposed to be in this week. It is the least ordered color, which suits us fine!

Reason: missing word
Congrats! Looks great! I was hoping you would be happier with the steering though. I wonder if the adaptive steering makes it more difficult.
Thanks!
It looks like the Adaptive steering has no effect on the amount of effort. All it does is reduce the number of turns required at low speeds. If the stiffer steering helps reduce the bump steer caused by the solid front axle then it will be worth it

That's one thing I noticed on the '17s that I test drove...there was really no bump steer compared to my '08. The steering was maybe a bit more effort, but had better on-center feel and much less loose than my truck. I don't remember if those '17s had adaptive steering or not.
JDF I'm glad your truck finally came in! It looks beautiful. What a nice color combo on the interior and exterior. Agreed that the KR is not green at all inside.
As an interesting side note, our trucks are identical except I have the 20" tires, FX4 package, and a long bed. Our payload difference is 411 lbs.
I don't have the splash guards. I guess they weren't something I ordered. I want to get them though because mud kicks up on the running boards and it's annoying.
