Tow Mirror Upgrade Options

Hey guys, just brought home a brand new 2013 F150 with the 3.5 EB. It came with the smaller mirrors but I would like to get towing mirrors. What options do I have as far as OEM or OEM replacement? Are they plug and play and will it preserve the tint and heat options that my current mirrors have? Also, a puddle lamp would be nice, if thats available. But I prefer plug and play options.

I had a 2012 Expy and I searched for Tow mirrors that were not stick on, snap on or strap to hold them on and finally I found a company called AM-autoparts. I spent about $200 on a new pair of manual pull out but powered glass with the puddle light in them. I had them on for about a year with zero issues.(traded the Expy in on a 2014 F150) They were plug and play, all you had to do was to remove the interior door panel to get to the retaining nuts. I loved them and even better the Wife loved them. They also worked great when pulling my 29' TT. Below is a link to tow mirrors that should fit your truck. Hope this helps.

You can get the ones off of the ford accessories catalog. You will keep all the options that your truck has (power glass, heat, turn signal) and you will gain the use of the puddle light. (That is what I did)

The only thing that they do not have is the auto tint function but I do not believe that any of the towing mirrors have that option (even factory equipped).

Here is a link to another thread on this subject where you can see pics and the similar information that you requested.

Similar situation as yours. Have a 2013 SCab XLT with standard mirrors and wanted to convert to tow mirrors. Purchased a set of Stage3 Motorsport replacements. Mirrors fit fine and were functional but the LED directional lights were of marginal quality (not equal to EOM). Sent a message off to them but no response.

Found a near-new set of OEM's and replaced them.

Tow mirrors are great. Vast improvement over standard especially when towing. Right now we tow a 22' pontoon boat on a 30' Triton tandem axle trailer and are looking at purchasing a 22'-25' travel trailer. Wouldn't want to tow without them.

Only caveat I'd pass on to anyone inquiring is that the tow mirrors are BIG. They're about as aerodynamic as a barn door. There is a noticeable increase in wind noise. Not objectionable but an increase nonetheless.

We have heated, anti-glare (driver's side), puddle lights, powered mirrors, no power fold or extend.

Installation is simple. 4 fasteners on the inside door panel, plug-and-play electrical connections, three screws secure the mirrors themselves. Not necessary to remove all other electrical connections, just let the door panel hang loosely. About 15 minutes per side.

My suggestion https://www.1aauto.com/2007-14-ford-...1024601&y=2011

I have been running their mirrors on my Excursion since 2013 and they have been flawless!
