Yes this has been covered so many times over and over but I need some help can't find what I'm looking for. 02 - 7.3 lariat, my a/c stays on max because of the recirculating effect. When I get in the next morning during summer of course, my dash vents take a few seconds to begin, default defrost till that time passes.
Sure I know about leaks and redone all that to make my vacuum hubs work correctly.
It didn't begin till later not right after that overhaul. Thanks for help
I'm having a little trouble following you here, is there something wrong with your switch that A/C only works on max? I don't really know how you could tell of that was happening.
Or is it that when you start up in AM that it's defaulted to defrost until it builds vacuum? If that's the case I'd say that you might have a small leak in your vacuum line. I usually leave mine in the off position when I vacate my truck so the fan's not running when I start up so I don't know what mine does but the vacuum pump does run for a while at first. If it functions satisfactorily and the pump doesn't run excessively after start up I wouldn't worry about it, but that's just me.
Thank you for reply, the second part of your answer is exactly what I have going on, so do you think maybe if I go ahead and replace blend door (actuator only) that is a good start, then just backing out from that point checking for small leaks?
I have a vaccum pump checker(little mighty vac) that I bought while working on my hubs.
Also, I'm 90% sure leaks are at a minimum from my pulse solenoid down to hubs. New vaccum reservoir tank from ford, all while addressing those hubs(new lines, one hub). Lastly I go to off as well, little OCD reckon? Thanks again let me know about replacing that actuator, or leave it alone?
I wouldn't blindly replace that door without diagnosing it as a problem first. If you have the ability to test your vacuum you could isolate portions of the hose and test them.
All it does is indicate that your vacuum has leaked off and it's going to sooner or later. I don't know what's normal but overnight wouldn't surprise me.
