Well, my '86 F150 2X4 5.0L EFI that I have owned since new left me stranded on the road today. First time since back when it was still under warranty. I really had it coming though since the tank pumps have been failing for a long time.
It's a miserable job to replace the tank pumps (have dual tanks and intend to replace all three pumps this time). I had the rear tank out a few years ago but did not do a thorough repair at that time.
My question is "where and what brands would provide quality, affordable fuel pumps?" "Any poor quality horror stories"?
I have never had the high pressure pump on the frame rail fail. Original is a Bosch and I think it is still available. Would think twice about changing it out solely on spec.

I'll accept that advice. I will certainly test it first after the tanks pumps are in place.
Quality parts are my goal in order to lessen the chance of doing the miserable work of replacing the tank pumps yet again.
